If you like Robyn Carr's Virgin River books, but would rather skip the steamy romance and connect with Jesus instead, I think you will enjoy Love Remains. It deals with many of the same themes, but points readers to the lifeline of hope that God holds out to them.
Yes! Mercy House, Moms in Prayer, CrossCounsel, and even Embrace Grace really do exist! While all aspects of the ministries may not be accurately portrayed, each are making an eternal impact on the lives of those they serve.

All characters are fictionalized. A few characters like Sharon, Kathy, and Miss Susie are loosely based on women I’ve known and admired for the amazing work they do in representing the heart of Jesus to others. And, as with most fiction, bits and pieces of stories of other characters came from snippets of real life I’ve either heard about or lived. Yes, some aspects of Elle’s life are based on my own story. I know firsthand the pain of miscarriage . . . the debilitating grief that can come with that . . . the way it can color all your perceptions and relationships. And thanks to Jesus, I've learned the way out of it . . . through hope that is everlasting . . . and through the love that remains.
I know firsthand the pain of losing a precious child still in the womb. His life is no less significant than yours or mine, in spite of the fact that he never took a breath on this earth. Like Claire in the story, my Chet left his baby footprints all over my heart. Even though he was a brief 21 weeks in my womb, I am a richer person by far for having had him in my life. I credit him with having driven me into the arms of Jesus, where I found solace and strength to live. I desperately want you to know one more thing that is true about this fictionalized story: the fact that you really can have an authentic personal relationship with Jesus. He wants that because he loves you. No matter what kind of history you have or scars you bear, he came to bring you healing and freedom.
